Earth observation data to monitor the links between air quality and COVID-19

COVID-19 second wave is hardly hitting Europe and new lock-down measures are being enforced in numerous countries on an almost daily basis.

How is this affecting pollution and air quality? Is there any link between air quality and COVID-19 diffusion?

Once again, Earth Observation is a precious tool in our hands to monitor the ongoing situation and make forecasts for the future.

Data collected and models developed by the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), which monitors atmospheric conditions worldwide and provides information related to air pollution and health, solar energy, greenhouse gases and climate forcing, can help answer these questions.

Take a look at the CAMS webpage dedicated to European Air Quality information in support of the COVID-19 crisis and go through their interesting Questions&Answers section if you want to learn more.
