Happy holidays from SURPRISE!

The last year has been hectic for SURPRISE.

From September 2020 we have had two review meetings with the European Commission and external reviewers, one webinar with national space Agencies, one challenge workshop with the members of our User Community Panel and one exploitation workshop with all partners. Not mention the papers presented at conferences, the bilateral exploitation sessions and the deliverables submitted, thanks to the countless virtual meetings of our working groups and to the daily work of the SURPRISE team.

It’s now time for some well deserved rest!

Still not possible to leave on a trip to some exciting exotic destination? Earth Observation can take us anywhere! The cover picture (as acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer on NASA’s Terra satellite) shows the Marine National Park and Sanctuary in the Gulf of Kutch, India. The marine sanctuary spans about 450 square kilometers, from the mouth of the gulf towards the head. A core area within the sanctuary is a national park, protecting coral and mangrove ecosystems.
