SURPRISE meets potential end-users from the land sector

A couple of weeks ago, we told you about our meeting with potential end-users of Earth Observation (EO) applications for the marine sector.

On Wednesday 29th June, the second webinar with potential end-users took place and we met with experts of EO applications for the land sector. Involved external speakers were Julien Chimot from EUMETSAT, Martin Wooster from King’s College London and Fabrizia Buongiorno from the Italian National Institute for Geophysics and Vulcanology.

The webinar was organised by the SURPRISE coordinator IFAC-CNR together with partners ACRI-ST, Resolvo and Leonardo. The objective was to better understand end-user needs, present the current status of SURPRISE work and open a discussion on the potential benefits of our concept for remote sensing land products.

As it was the case for the webinar with potential end-users from the marine sector, very interesting inputs emerged from discussion at the virtual meeting. Experts provided very useful insights on their work and needs, bringing useful input on the possible added-value of the SURPRISE concept for their field.

These first two webinars with potential end-users provided a lot of food for thoughts. The project research team is now going to further discuss and asses them, in their work along the SURPRISE exploitation path.

Busy months ahead for SURPRISE, keep following this page to know more!
