SURPRISE @ ETE – Earth Technology Expo

Last week was a busy one for the SURPRISE team in Tuscany (IT), taking part in the ETExpo – Earth Technology Expo in Florence.

SURPRISE Principle Investigator for CNR-IFAC, Valentina Raimondi, participated in the ETE’s round-table focusing on the role of regional SMEs and research sector for innovating the Tuscan aerospace sector.

Our partner Saitec was there as well with a booth at the Tuscany Region’s corner. They presented the Target Scanning System, the core of Saitec’s R&D work in SURPRISE and another one of their products, MINISTAR.

The event gathered exhibitors and participants belonging to various sectors: from civil protection, to business and academia, up to local, regional and national public authorities. Overall, more than 16000 visitors (of which 1500 students) attended the 4 days of ETE, featuring 79 events, 388 speakers and 128 companies.

ETE showcased a number of advanced proposals and technological solutions to address the climate challenge and the digital transition. For our project and for our partner Saitec, it was the perfect occasion to share intermediate results of R&D work, to network with other institutions and look at possible synergies with other projects.
